Securely Accept Online Payments with Stripe
Stripe is a trusted payment processing platform that enables your business to accept online payments securely through credit and debit cards. By connecting Stripe to your system, you can automate transactions, ensure faster payment collection, and maintain a smooth checkout experience for your customers.
This guide walks you through the step-by-step process of adding Stripe as a payment gateway and activating it for live transactions.
Steps to Add Stripe
Step 1: Go to Settings → Payment Gateways on the left menu.
Click the New Payment Gateway button to begin setting up a new integration.
💡 Tip: Before adding Stripe, make sure you already have a verified Stripe account.
Step 2: Select Stripe as Your Platform
In the New Payment Gateway window, click the Platform dropdown and select Stripe.
Step 3: Enter Stripe Credentials
Once you select Stripe, new input fields will appear for your API credentials.
Public Key – Copy this from your Stripe dashboard under Developers → API Keys.
Secret Key – Also found under Developers → API Keys (make sure you’re using your live keys for production).
Remark – Optionally, add a note for internal reference (e.g., “Main Business Stripe Account”).
Status – Choose Active to enable immediately, or Inactive if you’re setting up but not ready to go live yet.
Step 4: Save and Verify Connection
Click Save to complete the integration. A success message will confirm that your new payment gateway was added.
You’ll now see Stripe listed under your Payment Gateways with its status shown as Active or Inactive.
Notes
You must have a verified Stripe Business Account to enable live payments.
Always use Live Keys for real transactions and Test Keys for sandbox testing.
Only one Stripe gateway can be active per account.
Tips
💡 Tip 1: Use Stripe’s Test Mode to verify payment workflows before switching to live mode.
💡 Tip 2: Keep your API keys secure—never share them publicly or via unsecured messages.
💡 Tip 3: Regularly check your Stripe dashboard for any account alerts or payout delays.
