Easily Configure PayPal as Your Payment Gateway
PayPal is one of the most widely used online payment platforms, allowing your customers to pay securely with their PayPal account or credit/debit card. Adding PayPal as a payment gateway to your system makes it easier to accept payments and keep transactions synchronized in real time.
This guide walks you through the process of adding PayPal as a payment gateway, configuring Instant Payment Notifications (IPN), and ensuring your account is properly set up.
Steps to Add PayPal
Step 1: Go to Settings in your system menu, then select Payment Gateways.
FStep 2: From the Payment Gateways screen, you have two ways to begin adding PayPal:
- Click Add PayPal.
- Or, click New Payment Gateway at the top, then select PayPal from the pop-up window.
Step 2: A new configuration window will open. Complete the following setup:

Follow the IPN Instructions
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Navigate to Account Settings > Website Payments.
- Locate Instant Payment Notifications (IPN) and turn it on.
- Enter the provided notification URL in the
notify_urlfield. - This ensures your system receives real-time transaction updates.

Enter Your PayPal Email
- In the Email field, input the email address linked to your PayPal business account.

Add a Remark (Optional)
- Use the Remark field to add a description or notes for this gateway.

Set the Status
- Select Active to enable PayPal immediately, or Inactive to save it for later activation.
Step 3: Click Save once all details are entered and IPN is enabled. PayPal will now appear in your list of payment gateways.
Important Notes
- A PayPal Business Account is required for integration.
- Ensure IPN is enabled; otherwise, your system won’t receive payment confirmations.
- The email you enter must match the one registered with your PayPal account.
Tips
- Test your PayPal integration with a sandbox account before going live.
- Keep your PayPal account information updated to avoid payment issues.
- If multiple payment gateways are active, clearly set PayPal’s display name so customers can easily recognize it at checkout.
🔍 Viewing Account Status
- Accounts are labeled Active (green) or Inactive (orange) in the Status column.
- Use the Filter buttons at the top to view All, Active, or Inactive accounts.
