Recurring invoices automate billing for design retainers, monthly packages, and long-term projects. Follow these quick steps to set yours up.
1. Select the Client
Choose your client and optionally add a reference.
Examples:
“Monthly Design Retainer – Client A”
“Social Media Package – December”
“Website Maintenance – Gold Plan”
2. Set Recurring Details
Configure how often the invoice will repeat.
Starting Date – e.g., 12/09/2025
Repeat Every – Monthly (common for design work)
Payment Term – e.g., Net 15 or Due on Receipt
Ending Date – e.g., 12/09/2026
Or select No End Date for ongoing retainer clients.
3. Add Item Details
Add the design services you bill each cycle.
Examples:
10 Hours Graphic Design – Retainer
Quantity: 10 hrs | Unit Price: $30/hrSocial Media Graphics (12 pcs)
Quantity: 12 | Unit Price: $8 eachWebsite Maintenance – Standard Plan
Quantity: 1 | Unit Price: $120
Add multiple services using Add Another Item.
4. Add Attachments (Optional)
Upload relevant files like:
Design contract
Approved package outline
Monthly deliverables list
5. Review Summary
Double-check subtotal, discounts, tax, and total amount.
6. Save
Click Save to activate the recurring invoice. Charges will generate automatically based on your schedule.
