You can delete an account from your Chart of Accounts (COA) if itโs no longer needed or was created by mistake. This helps you keep your account list organized and accurate.
Steps to Delete an Account
Step 1: Navigate to Accounting โ Chart of Accounts from the left-side menu.
Step 2: Locate the Account to Delete
Search or scroll through your account list to find the account you want to remove.
Step 3:Click Edit beside the account you wish to delete.
This opens the Edit Account window, where you can review the account details before deletion.

The Edit Account window displays information such as Name, Account Type, Number, Currency, and Description.
Step 4: Delete the Account
Click the Delete button (๐๏ธ) to remove the account from your Chart of Accounts.
๐ Note:
You can only delete accounts that have no transactions associated with them.
If the account is linked to any existing transactions, it cannot be deleted for data integrity reasons.
Step 5: A confirmation message will appear.
Click Yes, Delete to confirm your action.
โ ๏ธ Warning: Deleting an account is permanent and cannot be undone.
Make sure the account is no longer needed before proceeding.
Step 6: Once deleted, the account will no longer appear in your list.
You can verify this by refreshing the page or searching for the account name or number.
