This quick guide helps you set up AI Receipt Scanning so you can turn receipts into expenses in just a few clicks.
If something doesn’t work, the most common fixes are included below, so you don’t need to contact support.
✅ Before You Start (Quick Checklist)
Make sure you have:
A Fynlo account
Access to AI Expense Beta
A clear photo or PDF of your receipt
✅ Tip: Blurry or cropped receipts may fail to scan.
Step 1: Open AI Receipt Scanning
Log in to Fynlo
Click AI Expense Beta in the left menu

You’ll see two tabs:
Receipts → for uploads
Drive → for Google Drive sync
Step 2: Add Your First Receipt
Option A: Upload a Receipt (Easiest Way)
Go to the Google Drive -> Select the folder connected to Fynlo
Click Upload or drag your receipt
Go back to Fynlo, wait for the AI to finish scanning
If nothing happens:
Refresh the page
Try uploading again
Step 3: Fix Missing or Wrong Details (If Needed)
After scanning, Fynlo auto-fills:
Amount
Merchant
Date
Currency
Payment method
To fix errors:
Click the Edit in the dropdown menu
Correct the field
Click Save
✅ Most errors come from unclear receipts.
Step 4: Save Your Receipt as an Expense
Click Save as Expense
Your receipt is now saved
It will appear in Expenses
✅ If the button doesn’t work, refresh and try again.
🚨 Common Problems & Easy Fixes

| Receipt not scanning | Make sure the image is clear and not blurry |
| Wrong amount | Click ✏️ Edit and fix it manually |
| Nothing happens after upload | Refresh the page and try again |
| Can’t see “Save as Expense” | Scroll right or use “Grid” view |
Optional: Connect Google Drive (Advanced)
You can automatically scan receipts from Google Drive.
Go to the Drive tab
Click Connect Google Drive
Log in and allow access
Click Sync Drive
✅ Receipts will be scanned automatically when added to Drive.
