Update an existing UOM to keep your item details accurate and consistent
This guide explains how to edit an existing Unit of Measurement (UOM) in your system settings.
Step 1: From the left-hand navigation panel, click Settings.Then, select Unit of Measurement.
This will bring you to the full list of UOMs in your workspace.
Step 2: On the Unit of Measurement page, locate the UOM you want to update.
Step 3: On the right side of the row, click the Edit (Pen) icon.
📌 The edit icon is positioned beside the trash/delete icon.
The Edit UOM pop-up window will appear.
Step 4: You can now modify the following fields:
Name (Required):
Change the short code or label for the UOM.
Example: Updating “KG” to “KGM”Description:
Adjust the descriptive name if needed.
Example: Changing “Kilogram” to “Kilograms”
⚠️ Important Reminder: Editing the UOM Name may affect existing items or transactions already using that unit. Make changes carefully.
Step 5: Once your updates are complete, click Save
✅ Your unit of measurement has been successfully updated.
The changes will automatically reflect across your items, inventory records, and transactions.
