Once your Google Drive is connected to Fynlo’s AI Expense, the system automatically scans and imports your receipts — saving you hours of manual data entry.
Here’s how it works and what to expect.
Step 1: Upload Receipts to Your Google Drive Folder
After connecting your Google Drive, make sure to upload all receipt files to your linked folder.
AI Expense supports:
- Image files (.jpg, .jpeg, .png)
- PDF files
- Scanned documents
✅ Tip: Use clear, readable images. Avoid cropped or blurry receipts to improve accuracy.
Step 2: Automatic Receipt Scanning
Once uploaded, AI Expense automatically scans and extracts details from your receipts using Google AI.
The system detects and reads:
- Merchant name
- Date of transaction
- Total amount
- Currency
- Tax (if visible)
- Category (auto-assigned when possible)
🧠 The AI learns over time — the more you upload, the more accurate your categorizations become.
Step 3: View Your Scanned Receipts
- Go to AI Expense → Receipts tab in Fynlo.
- Your newly scanned receipts will appear with extracted data.
- You can review and edit any detail before saving it to your expense list.
- Click View Original Receipt to see the uploaded image.
- Click Edit to update any incorrect fields.
- Use Save to Expense to add the item directly to your reports.
Step 4: Manage and Sync Receipts
You can control how your receipts are synced:

| Re-sync Receipts | Refreshes and reprocesses your Google Drive folder. |
| Disconnect Google Drive | Stops the sync. Once disconnected, the data will no longer update automatically. |
| Change Folder | Switch to a new folder for future uploads. |
Step 5: Keep Your Data Organized
- Move processed receipts to a subfolder (e.g., /Processed Receipts) to avoid duplicates.
- Rename receipts for easy tracking.
- Avoid uploading the same file twice.

🔐 Security Reminder
Your files stay in your Google Drive — Fynlo only reads them temporarily to extract information.
We never modify or delete your files.
